Qigong
Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a gentle yet powerful practice that brings together movement, breath, and focus to support the flow of energy—qi—through the body. It has been part of Chinese health and healing traditions for thousands of years and is still widely practised today for its many physical and mental benefits.
At Hall of Energy, we teach Taijiwuxigong, a form of Qigong developed by Dr. Shen Hongxun. It combines spontaneous movement, breath work, and postural alignment to help release tension, open energy channels, and promote natural healing. This system is grounded in both traditional principles and the founder’s background in medicine, Tai Chi, and Buddhist and Daoist practices.
Qigong can be practised standing or moving, and it’s accessible to people of all ages and abilities. Movements are simple and repetitive, allowing the body and mind to settle while gently building strength, flexibility, and awareness.
Many people find that regular Qigong practice helps:
Improve balance, posture, and coordination
Reduce stress and anxiety
Support deeper breathing and energy levels
Encourage relaxation and mental clarity
Enhance general wellbeing
We offer a dedicated Qigong class on Friday mornings. It’s a quiet, supportive space to explore these slow, meditative movements—whether you’re new to the practice or looking to deepen your experience.
You’re welcome to come along, take it at your own pace, and see how it feels. Your first class is free.
