The Buqi Healing System

A tradition Chinese therapeutic system using the practitioners own internal energy to eliminate negativity (binqi) and resolve problems within the patient.

The treatment is non intrusive though occasionally hands on therapy may be used. The Buqi practitioner uses the theory of double vicious circle which, examines the relationship between emotional stress (whether currant or historical), poor posture both of which create problems in the spine and the closing of the intervertebra spaces. This in turn leads to the organs not being supplied with the necessary input from the nervous and hormone systems. This leads to the steady accumulation of binqi in the body.

Traditional Chinese medicine (tern) is largely concerned with the movement of Qi along the bodies meridian lines. Qi has many meanings but generally is described as breath or life force. The theory of Buqi differentiates between healthy Qi and Binqi or sick Qi (bin means ill and qi means unknown or invisible factors). Binqi can be translated as pathogenic factors. This encompasses toxic by products of Metabolism as well as the climatic pathogenic factors of tem. Also included in this concept are the effects of diet and environment.

As binqi is seen as a major factor treatment is focused on its expulsion from the body. Thereafter the Buqi healer may also give instructions on therapeutic exercise along with lifestyle and diet.

THE HEALING FORCES USED

The practitioner is generally an exponent of Taiji and, or, Taijiwuxigong and it is these forces that have been developed which are used to treat the patient from a distance to specific points or areas in the body. A range of techniques is used, these are known as vibration force, spontaneous movement and mental force.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Traditional Chinese medicine has been and continues to be developed over many centuries. It has been of great benefit to the majority of mankind. It is only recently that this knowledge has spread to the west and the success rate of tan treatments such as acupuncture, tunia massage, and Chinese herbs has meant that these forms of treatment have become well known.

Buqi is another form of tan was almost lost over time. There are books of Chinese history that show records of people curing disease in patients without touching. No records show how this was done.

Dr Shen Hongxun came into contact with the system through his grandfather and later his teacher professor Yao Huanzhi.
He has developed and researched the system for over 30 years and it is now used together with western medical theory for treatment and healing. Dr Shen continues to train and pass this knowledge onto his students.

BUQI TREATMENT

The initial treatment will include some questions to define the history and development of the complaint will be followed by diagnosis and treatment. Generally instructions will be given and appropriate exercises suggested to help eradicate the problem.
The initial consultation is for about 90 minutes.
The patient should wear loose clothing.
